Amitabh is a CFA charterholder, Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and Credit Risk Certified professional (RMA-CRC), reflecting his commitment to technical excellence. He holds a B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi and an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur, merging rigorous analytical training with strategic business acumen. As past president of RABEva and board member of RMA Richmond, he champions professional development in the economics and credit-risk communities. Outside of work, Amitabh shares insights through industry articles, podcast appearances, and speaking engagements—most recently on ESG at the RMA RVA chapter—demonstrating his passion for thought leadership in credit risk management.

Amitabh spearheads SRA’s Credit Portfolio Management practice, guiding clients to establish robust credit risk strategies, governance structures, and downturn preparedness tools. He designs portfolio risk mitigation and model calibration processes—spanning risk rating, pricing, and stress-testing models—while integrating ESG and sustainability considerations into credit frameworks. Most recently, he led credit analytics and research for Capital One’s wholesale portfolio, identifying emerging risks to influence critical risk-acceptance decisions. Earlier at Capital One, he developed executive risk MIS, managed rating-agency communications, and oversaw portfolio modeling for both retail and wholesale segments. He began his career at ICICI Bank as a commercial underwriter and relationship manager, conducting techno-financial appraisals and building pricing and capital-allocation tools.
