Ken Thorn

A veteran banking operations and M&A leader who transformed troubled institutions and built a $160 million staffing firm through strategic acquisitions.

An entrepreneurial strategist, Mr. Thorn is passionate about turning complex challenges into growth opportunities. He thrives on guiding teams through mergers, operational turnarounds, and business expansions. As a board member and advisor, he’s known for his analytical acumen, collaborative leadership, and commitment to mentoring executives. Outside of work, he lends his expertise to corporate and community boards, sharing his insights to foster sustainable success.

Mr. Thorn brings over 25 years of senior banking expertise, having served as CFO at Strategic Risk Associates and in executive roles at Chemical Bank (now Chase Manhattan) and First Fidelity Bank (now Wells Fargo). He specialized in streamlining internal operations, integrating acquisitions, and divesting non-core units. In 1996, he founded Hobart West, growing it to a $160 million legal services and commercial staffing company with over 600 employees through 15 acquisitions. In 2004 he launched LEAF Financial Advisors (formerly Wyatt Partners), advising private equity firms and business owners on financial strategy. He holds a BA in Economics & Political Science from Dickinson College and an MA in Law & Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
